My hearing was damaged in my 30’s by too many race cars in my life. Until my mid to late 60’s I got by, but at that time it was getting harder and harder to hear high pitched voices.
Not knowing much about hearing aids I went to one of the “big box stores” where I was tested and fit with over the ear aids that I could reach up, push a button and make some minor adjustments. After about five years I was very disappointed with the aids and the lack of what I felt was an educated technician who could help me be comfortable. So I started my own research about hearing aids and was overwhelmed by so many options, companies and features.
